Before you ask for a quote, decide
- What is the job: interior drainage, exterior membrane, foundation repair, or a combination?
- Whether water enters through cracks, through the wall-floor joint, or after heavy rain, and whether the basement is finished or unfinished.
- Whether a deadline applies, such as a real estate closing or a renovation schedule.
Questions to ask every company
- What exactly is included: interior drainage, exterior membrane, sump pump with battery backup, crack repair, discharge lines and restoration?
- How is the job priced: by job, by linear foot, or a flat scope price, and what would change the price?
- Who does the work, your own crew or subcontractors, and what permits or county requirements apply to this job?
- Is this an interior system, an exterior system, or both, and what warranty and documentation will I receive when the job is done?
- What does the written quote cover, and what would change it once work starts, such as conditions found during excavation?
- Where does the discharge water go, and what maintenance does the system need afterward?
